For over 15 years, Pete has designed and executed high-level communication strategies in government, non-profit, and the private sector. During the Obama Administration, he held senior positions in White House Communications, the National Security Council, and the Department of Homeland Security, where he served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Strategic Communication. He led the communications strategy and response to a wide array of national security issues, including immigration and refugee policy, border and aviation security, cybersecurity and protection of our critical infrastructure, pandemic response (including Zika and Ebola), domestic emergency management and natural disaster response, and issues across the Western Hemisphere, including President Obama’s Cuba policy.
